EL NIÑO

Since childhood's hour, I have been poor in spirit, mourning through endless wintertime. When the shadow-shake descends, a Yell from hell will ascend. Yes... When I hungered and thirsted, unable to satiate my soul, An endless winter rainbow hovered there. When I cried out for mercy, unable to stand on my feet because of unending hours— When my face was earth-stained, my heart raced wildly in that final trial— From my early days I was not as my brothers were; Whenever my name was called, I was known as 'The Child' Yes... Since my childhood hours. As I ran through the mountains pursued by horses at full gallop, my heart was yet full of joy among those heights— When the soft voices whispered within my mind upon those mountains helms, I felt I could move all those realms. Yet, I fell asleep upon the heights, and thunder called out: "Childhood hours upon the mountain of the Most High."
